"All Vows" is an English translation of "Kol Nidre," the incantation that begins the Yom Kippur service and which pre-emptively nullifies any future vows made unintentionally. The film uses ancient archival films to depict an unknowable future, reflected through a dissolving historic document. Featuring cellist Maya Beiser performing an original composition by composer Michael Gordon, who has collaborated on numerous projects with writer and director Bill Morrison, including Decasia (2002), which was added to the National Film Registry in 2013.

About the Director(s)
Bill Morrison‘s films often combine rare archival material set to contemporary music. He is perhaps best known for Decasia (67 min, 2002), his collaboration with the composer Michael Gordon, which was recently selected to the U.S. Library of Congress’ 2013 National Film Registry. Morrison's films are also in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Walker Art Center, and the EYE Film Institute.
