From Academy Award®-nominated documentary filmmaker Kirby Dick (This Film is Not Yet Rated) comes a searing indictment of the hypocrisy of closeted politicians who actively campaign against the LGBT community they covertly belong to. Boldly revealing the hidden lives of some of the United States' most powerful policymakers, Outrage takes a comprehensive look at the harm they've inflicted on keeping their secrets.

Kirby, known for pulling back the curtain on topics shrouded in secrecy, presents analysis from many prominent members of the gay community, such as Congressman Barney Frank, former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey, activist Larry Kramer, radio personality Michelangelo Signorile, and the controversial blogger Mike Rogers (whose blog has spearheaded the movement to out closeted, anti-gay-rights politicians). Their commentary explores the obvious questions but adds new ones as well about the psychology of the double lifestyle, the ethics of outing closeted politicians, and the double standards that the media upholds in its coverage of the sex lives of gay public figures. With the potential to become one of the year's most explosive documentaries, Outrage is sure to stir a lot of talk and debate, and perhaps make an impact on the same-sex civil rights battle in the US. A Magnolia Pictures presentation.

About the Director(s)
Kirby Dick is an Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker. In 2006 he directed This Film Is Not Yet Rated, a breakthrough investigation of the highly secretive MPAA film ratings system that compelled the MPAA to make changes in how it rates films. His Oscar®-nominated documentary Twist of Faith is the story of a man confronting his past sexual abuse by a Catholic priest. His other films include Derrida (2002), which won the Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, and Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1997), which won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.
